The new InterContinental resort is found on its own coral island, Moto Piti Aau, on the edge of the coral reef. Its centrepiece is the Deep Ocean thalassotherapy spa, managed by Algotherm, and the funky bar area. 99 tropically-themed bungalows, either perched over the lagoon with glass bottomed floors or on the edge of the ivory sands, shaded by coconuts. As well as an area specifically devoted to couples, its safe lagoon (with resident turtles) is ideal for families, especially those staying in the new 2 bedroom Pool Beach suites which can sleep up to five. Lots of activities too, including sailing, scuba, jet skiing and traditional Polynesian outrigger canoeing.
