Whether your passion for scenery lies in mountains or deserts, rainforests or undeveloped stretches of coastline, the barren outback or vast savannah plains, rolling hills or quiet backwaters, Bridge & Wickers holidays are to be found set against a an amazing diversity of landscapes and seascapes. Even on a single holiday you can also experience an enticing blend of sceneries which can be explored by various means of travel. And even in some of the most remote of locations there’s no need to sacrifice creature comforts.

Its landscapes are on a continental scale. From the immensity of its arid, fiery red Outback to the dense vegetation of the world’s oldest rainforest, you cannot fail to be overwhelmed by Australia’s scenic wonders. You’ll also encounter bird-rich wetlands, rugged escarpments, iconic monoliths, dramatic gorges and waterfalls. Yet even in the heart of these seemingly untamed, remote worlds you’ll find places to stay that are every bit as luxurious as city centre hotels.
From the voluptuous, volcanic topography of North Island to the majestic Alpine peaks and deep fjord coastline of the South, New Zealand is one long scenic indulgence. It’s one of the most beautiful countries on the planet, with more than a third protected as a national park or nature reserve. Whether you choose to explore these landscapes by car or on foot, on an escorted tour or by boat, this world-in-one-country is all the more impressive in the flesh than even the most spectacular movie portrayal
CanadaAs you might expect from the second biggest country in the world – one with just half the population of the UK – there’s more than enough scenery to last a lifetime. Unless you relish a journey from end to end you will probably want to immerse yourself in the peaks, lakes, glaciers and forests that populate the Rockies to the west, or the gentler, maritime land and seascapes of the east, including the iconic Niagara Falls. Our Canada also includes Alaska, home to more than half of the world’s stock of glaciers.
AsiaAlthough often overlooked by the obvious temptations of gorgeous beaches and exotic cities, the rural scenery in south east Asia offers a great deal more than emerald paddy fields. In Thailand you can trek through jungle, in Vietnam or Laos cruise the waterscapes of the mighty Mekong, discover temples long camouflaged by dense vegetation in Cambodia and in Malaysia visit tea plantations the highlands or the thickly matted jungles of Borneo.
AfricaAfrica’s landscapes are as memorable as its wildlife – and as varied. Its mountains range from snow-capped Kilimanjaro and the lush Mahale Mountains, which rise beside Lake Tanganyika, to the jungle-clad slopes of the Virungas. The shifting hues of Namibia’s towering sand dunes contrast with the forested dunes of South Africa’s Maputaland coast; the power of the Zambezi River with the ephemeral waters of the Selinda Spillway. The watery world of the Okavango Delta seems worlds away from both the wide grasslands of the Serengeti and the rocky, arid wilderness of northern Kenya.
