Unlike many companies that appear to be named after real people, Bridge & Wickers is both owned and run by Jerry Bridge and David Wickers. Both have long, but very different careers, in the travel industry which makes their partnership unique.

jerry-bridgeJerry Bridge is the son of early travel industry pioneer Walter Bridge (who founded Paris, Swiss, Belgium and Amsterdam Travel Service). In 1989, after two years of travelling the world and having worked at Trailfinders for three & a half years, Jerry created the successful travel company Bridge The World - specialising in round the world air tickets. Having built the business up to 150 staff with a turnover of £50m, Jerry sold Bridge the World to an online travel specialist and shortly after channelled his experience into a new venture in partnership with David Wickers. One of Jerry's greatest travel achievements was winning the coveted 'Outstanding Contribution to the Australian Tourism Industry by an Individual' award from Tourism Australia in 2004.

Here's a video detailing the history of Bridge Travel

david-wickersDavid Wickers for 17 years held the coveted position of Chief Travel Correspondent on The Sunday Times, and on three occasions was voted ‘Travel Writer of the Year.’ As a result of his first hand experiences, including extensive travel throughout Europe, North, Central and South America, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific, he is in a unique position to know what it takes to create the perfect holiday experience - and, in particular, what one should expect from a truly top tour operator.
