Round The World – in fewer than 80 days!

If you're lucky enough to have a four or five week holiday, you could consider a trip around the world. Instead of flying straight out and back to any one destination, why not visit several along the way for a rich and varied treasury of memories? As Bridge & Wickers has expanded its portfolio of places, we are able to tailor make round the world itineraries that we think you'll find tempting alternatives to the more familiar option of spending a holiday in just the one country.

Itinerary One

London - South Africa – Australia - Vancouver - London

Enjoy our showcase of the best of South Africa, including the handsome waterfront city of Cape Town, together with its beaches and Cape wineries, a drive along the Garden Route including Plettenberg Bay and a classic safari, before flying to Perth in Australia’s South West. The city is the perfect gateway to stunning beaches and the vineyards of the Margaret River. From there you'll fly to Ayers Rock and explore Australia's Red Centre before flying down to Sydney. Your final stop is Vancouver,  a city surrounded water and topped with stunning mountainous scenery.

Day by day itinerary

Day 1 : Fly overnight to Cape Town

Days 2 – 5 : Cape Town – with four nights at the Cape Grace hotel.

Days 6 – 7 : Cape Vinyards - Pick up your car and drive to the village of Franschhoek in the Cape winelands where you’ll stay at Akademie Street Guesthouse.

Day 8 : Outdsshoorn - Drive to Outdsshoorn where you’ll stay at De Zeekoe, an owner-run guesthouse on a farm just outside the town.

Days 9 – 11 : Garden Route - Drive through Knysna and Plettenberg Bay to the Tsitsikamma Forest. You’ll stay at Hog Hollow which has a fabulous location in the heart of the forest within walking distance of a number of the local attractions.

Days 12 – 14 : Eastern Cape Safari - Round off your African experience with a 3-night safari in the malaria-free Eastern Cape. You’ll stay at Pumba Lodge which offers exceptional game viewing.

Day 15 – 18 : Perth (fly via Johannesburg) – Drop your car at Port Elizabeth airport for your flight to Joburg and on (overnight) to Perth where you'll stay at the Mounts Bay Waters Apartments for 3 nights.

Days 19 – 20 : Uluru - Transfer back to the airport and fly to Ayers Rock where you’ll enjoy 2 days exploring Uluru and Kata Tjuta, staying at the Lost Camel hotel.

Days 21 – 24 : Sydney – Fly to Sydney for 4 nights at the five star Four Seasons with spectacular views of Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. During your stay we recommend a Bridge climb, cruise around the harbour and day tour to the Blue Mountains (all of which our consultants can arrange).

Days 25 – 29 : Vancouver – Fly to Vancouver, arriving the same day, and enjoy 5 nights at the Four Seasons hotel.

Day 30 – Fly back to the UK.

Guideline price £6295 per person based on 2 sharing and including round the world flights in economy with British Airways and Qantas, private transfers throughout, car hire where applicable and 27 nights’ accommodation as indicated. Accommodation is room only except for Pumba Lodge which includes all meals.

Itinerary Two

London – Singapore – Vietnam – Australia – New Zealand – Cook Islands – London

Taking advantage of the alliance between Singapore Airlines and Air New Zealand this five week trip allows you to soak up the wonders of Vietnam, travelling from Hanoi and its rich history to Halong Bay, Hue and Hoi An before ending in Ho Chi Min.  Onwards to Sydney for a large dose of city living before exploring New Zealand’s North Island, from Wellington to Waiheke Island. Indulge in plenty of relaxation on the stunning beaches of Rarotonga in the Cook Islands before bidding farewell to your Round the World adventure.

Day 1 : Overnight flight to Singapore.

Days 2 - 3 : Singapore- Enjoy 2 nights at the Park Hotel Clarke Quay with return airport transfers.

Days 4-14 : Vietnam - Fly to Hanoi and begin your 12 day Vietnam Highlights privately guided tour, exploring Hanoi, Sapa, Halong Bay, Hue, Hoi An and Ho Chi Min City.

Days 15-18 : Sydney- Fly via Singapore to Sydney for a 4 night stay at the centrally located Four Seasons Hotel, taking advantage of a great special offer saving £199 per room when you stay 4 nights and pay for 3!  Includes return airport transfers.

Days 19 – 28 : New Zealand - Fly to Wellington and collect your Hertz rental car. Enjoy a 10 night self drive tour from Wellington to Auckland including stops in Martinborough, Rotorua, the Coromandel peninsula and Waiheke Island, staying in charming guests houses and central hotels.

Days 29 - 32: Cook Islands - Travel back to Auckland and head to the airport for your flight to the Cook Islands. You'll land in Rarotonga before you took off from Auckland, crossing the international dateline! Stay 4 nights in a Garden Studio at the Pacific Resort with complimentary transfers.

Day 33 : Fly back to the UK via Los Angeles.

Guideline price £5175 per person based on 2 sharing and including round the world flights in economy, transfers and accommodation as above and 7 days' car hire in New Zealand.
