The Kimberley – The Ultimate Self Drive
Map

Driving in the Kimberley
Driving the Gibb River Road is very challenging with long distances between rest stops, river crossings and basic accommodation. It is certainly an adventure and its one of our favourite areas of Australia, however we want you to be sure it is your kind of trip before considering the drive (plus car hire excesses are quite steep). We can also offer small group safaris which allow you appreciate more about the region as your experienced guide will take you to spectacular scenery and waterfalls you might otherwise miss and will offer an interpretation of the history and culture of the region you are visiting. It is a far less expensive or stressful experience, so do consider this as an option – our consultants can send you a brochure. Otherwise you can drive a small part of the road and still so the most spectacular part of the drive, a more relaxing adventure without quite so much driving (see our Kimberley Taster).
