Getting There
Plane Talking
What's the best airline to travel with?
Airfares to Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific represent outstanding value for money. Your ticket will actually cost you less per mile (at under three pence) than a ride on the London Underground. What's more, you no longer have to travel with the worst airlines in order to get a terrific deal.
At Bridge & Wickers we only work with the quality scheduled airlines which offer a wide choice of routes. Our consultants know which ones have the most direct services, getting you to your final destination in the quickest time, and those offering interesting stopovers along the way.
How much more space do I get by upgrading to business class?
Simple answer: a lot. Flat beds are featured by Qantas, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines, Etihad, Virgin Atlantic and Air New Zealand. In addition to comfort, business class passengers enjoy a range of other perks, including fancier food and wine, a wider choice of in-flight entertainment (increasing ‘on demand’ rather than at pre-fixed times), the use of airport lounges and additional luggage allowances. They also earn extra mileage points on the airlines' Frequent Flyer programmes (be sure to ask us to add your membership number(s) to your booking. Some airlines - notably Air New Zealand and Emirates - may also let you upgrade on individual sectors of your journey (on the 12-hour overnight flight from LA to Auckland, for example). You'll be surprised how even the longest of flights can be transformed into part of the holiday pleasures when flying at the front end, and even more so if you fly First Class.
Several airlines offer an alternative class in between economy and business. Known as World Traveller Plus (BA) or Premium Economy (Qantas and Virgin) and Pacific Premium (Air New Zealand), they feature a 'seat pitch' - the distance between your headrest and the one in front - of up to 40 inches, as well other benefits to make your journey more comfortable - ask our consultants for more details.
Your flights are ATOL Protected by the Civil Aviation Authority, and we act as agents for licensed tour operator TRAVEL 2/TRAVEL 4 LTD (ATOL 3228). ATOL protection extends primarily to customers who booked and pay in the United Kingdom. BRIDGE & WICKERS are ATOL holders (license number 6611).
