As well as the intimacy of sharing a ship with a limited number of fellow passengers, small vessels have a huge advantage over larger cruise ships in their ability to visit places inaccessible to the larger breeds. Combining short dimensions with a shallow draft, they can nose into small bays, cruise up narrow inlets and generally enable their passengers to get close up and personal to some amazingly rugged scenery.
