Vancouver SkylineDay 1- Arrive Vancouver

On arrival be met and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of today at leisure in Vancouver, one of the world’s most beautiful cities. This evening join your Tour Director and fellow travellers for an informal Welcome Reception. Two Night Stay: Vancouver, Blue Horizon Hotel.

 

Vancouver CyclingDay 2 - Vancouver sightseeing

This morning enjoy a sightseeing tour of Vancouver including the Waterfront, Gastown and Stanley Park. The rest of the day is free. (B)




Gold Leaf ServiceDay 3 - Rocky Mountaineer, Kamloops

Early today board the Rocky Mountaineer train. Relax in the comfort of your RedLeaf coach or upgrade to GoldLeaf Service. Pass through the fields of the Fraser Valley before entering the Fraser Canyon. See the thundering waters of Hell’s Gate and follow the Thompson River to historic Kamloops.  (B, L) Stay: Kamloops, hotel assigned by Rocky Mountaineer.

Train near lake in BCDay 4 - Rocky Mountaineer, Jasper

Rejoining the Rocky Mountaineer, follow the Thompson River into the snowy peaks of the Monashee Mountains. Pass Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, before arriving this afternoon in Jasper National Park. Stay: Jasper, Tonquin Inn (B, L, D)

 

Athabasca GlacierDay 5 - Columbia Icefield, Lake Louise, Banff

Travel along the spectacular Icefield Parkway. Stop at the Columbia Icefield for an unforgettable ride in an Ice Explorer onto Athabasca Glacier. This afternoon stop at Lake Louise, the Jewel of the Rockies. Later, arrive in Banff, where you will enjoy a two night stay. Two Night Stay: Banff Park Lodge (B)

 

Bow ValleyDay 6 - Banff Sightseeing

Today ride the Banff Gondola. Then perhaps visit The Fairmont Banff Springs or join a Banff Experience to discover the township (own expense). Tonight, enjoy the entertaining Oh Canada Eh! Theatre Dinner Show.  (B, D)

 

 

Mount Robson

Day 7 - Banff, Sun Peaks

This morning, you’ll descend from the Rocky Mountains. This afternoon arrive in Sun Peaks. On arrival, check into your hotel before a delicious dinner this evening. Stay: Sun Peaks, Hearthstone Lodge (B, D)

 

WhistlerDay 8 - Whistler

Today travel through the Caribou region and then view the Coast Mountains before your stay in Whistler, a lovely alpine resort. Stay: Aava Whistler Hotel.  (B)

 

 

Butchart GardensDay 9 - Georgia Strait, Victoria

From Whistler, perhaps enjoy a picturesque floatplane flight to Victoria (own expense). Alternatively, return to the coast to board a ferry and cruise across Georgia Strait to Vancouver Island. Continue to Victoria. Two Night Stay: Victoria, Queen Victoria Hotel & Suites (B)

 

VictoriaDay 10 - Victoria Sightseeing

This morning, enjoy free time on Vancouver Island. Perhaps take a whale-watching cruise or join a horse-drawn carriage tour (both at own expense). This afternoon, visit beautiful Butchart Gardens with its striking floral displays. Then enjoy a Farewell Dinner in these historic gardens. (B, D)

 

VancouverDay 11 - Victoria, Vancouver (16 day passengers join today)

Today visit Juneau, Alaska’s capital, located at the foot of grand mountain peaks on the Gastineau Channel, with the massive Mendenhall Glacier and Juneau Icefields at its back door. (B, L,D)

 

 

Skagway BayDay 16 - Skagway

At the northernmost point of the Inside Passage, Skagway’s history as a frontier town and gateway for the gold rush is still evident today. (B, L, D)

 

 

IcebergDay 17 - Glacier Bay

View the breathtaking sight of Glacier Bay National Park with its rivers of ice and skyscraping peaks. (B, L, D)

 

 

SealDay 18 - College Fjord

Today, observe the many glaciers and occasional wildlife of beautiful College Fjord (B, L, D)

 

 

EagleDay 19 - Seward, Flight to Fairbanks

Disembark your ship in Seward and board your coach to the Alaska Sealife Center. Then journey north to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, to see native wildlife up close. Later, return to Anchorage to enjoy some time at leisure. Stay: Anchorage.  (B)

 

 

FairbanksDay 20 - Fairbanks

Today, journey by coach through spectacular scenery to Fairbanks, the unofficial capital of inland Alaska. The route takes you through the agricultural region of Matanuska Susitna Valley and the Wrangell-St Elias National Park, the largest in the United States. Stay (Two Nights): Fairbanks. (B)

Day 21. Fairbanks Sightseeing.   
Today, take a sightseeing tour of Fairbanks and learn more about the area’s gold rush influenced past. Then, visit the University of Alaska’s fascinating Museum of the North to discover more about the state’s heritage. Later, enjoy a leisurely cruise along the Chena River aboard a traditional stern-wheeler. Tonight, dine at an authentic salmon bake. (B, D)

The DenaliDay 22 -  Denali National Park

Travel to Denali National Park, which takes its name from its major attraction, Mt Mckinley, which means ‘the high one’ in the native Athabaskan language. In this pristine national park, choose from optional activities such as river rafting, flight-seeing around Mt McKinley, or a jetboat safari on the Nenana River. Alternatively, visit award-winning kennels that are home to champion sled dogs (all at own expense). Stay (Two Nights): Denali National Park. (B)

 

DenaliDay 23 - Tundra Wilderness Tour

Today, journey deep into Denali National Park on the Tundra Wilderness Tour (early May and September tours may be shortened due to road conditions).  (B, L)




AnchorageDay 24 - Alaska Railroad to Anchorage

After a morning at leisure, board the Alaska Railroad for the trip to Anchorage. En route, look out for black bears along the banks of the Susitna River. Two Night Stay: Anchorage (B)

 

 

Explorers Lounge, VoldermanDay 25 - Anchorage

Enjoy a brief tour of Anchorage, with a visit to the Alaska Native Heritage Center. Tonight, feast on an Alaskan-style meal at an included dinner. (B; D)

Day 26 - Depart Anchorage

Your tour concludes with a transfer to the airport. (B)
