Here’s a suggested 14 day tour taking in all the key highlights of Alaska and the Yukon (which also operates in reverse depending on the date). You’ll travel through North America’s most pristine wilderness landscapes, following ancient wildlife corridors, historic native trading routes and Gold Rush trails.

Day 1 - Anchorage

Individual journey of the participants to Anchorage. At the airport, you will be welcomed by your tour-guide. Transfer to the hotel. Meeting to get aquainted with your fellow travellers. (Overnight accommodation in Anchorage).

Day 2 and 3 - Denali National Park

Travel north along the George Parks Highway to Denali National Park. We include a wildlife tour, with, hopefully, sightings of wolves, dall sheep, moose, caribou and grizzly bears. (Overnight accommodation close to the park).

Day 4 - Fairbanks

Visit the Alaska Dog Mushing Museum, take a trip by ‘sternwheeler’ on the Chena River or see the Gold Rush show at Malamute Saloon.

Day 5 - Tok

Another scenic drive, with lots of lakes and rivers to fill the camera viewfinder.

Day 6 and 7  Dawson City

The journey continues via the ‘Top of the World Highway’ and crosses the Yukon River by ferry. We visit the Jack London cabin, a remarkable Gold Diggers Museum and Diamond Tooth Gerties Casino.

Day 8 and 9 - Whitehorse

Following the Klondike Highway beside the mighty Yukon River, with a stop at Five Finger Rapids en route to Whitehorse. Small villages, with their old post offices and roadhouses, bring to mind the gold rush era over a century ago. You can see the longest wooden fishladder of the world, the Transportation Museum, the old sternwheeler SS Klondike, and a boat trip through Miles Canyon at the headwaters of the Yukon River. Or take an excursion to the old gold rush town and seaport of Skagway.

Day 10 - Haines Junction

Situated right next to Kluane National Park, Canada’s biggest and home to the largest glacier area of the world outside the Poles.

Day 11 - Tok

Following the scenic shore of the huge Lake Kluane.

Day 12 - Valdez

Passing through landscapes of rivers, lakes and majestic glaciers, the tour reaches the Wrangell-St. Elias National Park. From there the drive follows the Richardson Highway to Valdez on the Pacific coast.

Day 13: Anchorage

Taking the ferry along the Prince William Sound, past calving glaciers, you’ll also see an abundance of wildlife including otters, puffins, sealions and even whales.is said to be spectacular. (Overnight accommodation in Anchorage).

Day 14: Anchorage (Departure)
