The turquoise waters of Lake Louise, in Alberta's Rockies, have been photographed so often now that the lake has become something of a cliche for scenic perfection. The town of Lake Louise also has its own charm. Small but well-appointed with restaurants, cafes and shops, the town is an ideal destination in summer. Wildlife is also a major draw with elk commonly sighted from the road and even the occasional bear.
One of the best ways to see the glaciers and lakes in their full glory is by helicopter. There are a number of flight-seeing options available starting from a 20 minute flight (from £80 per person), to an ultimate 55 minute tour taking you to the jewels of Jasper National Park, the Columbia Icefield and the Snow Dome. En route to the Lyle Icefield, the return flight will continue via the Wilson Icefield to give the most spectacular helicopter tour of the Canadian Rockies (from £300 per person). We can also arrange trail riding, hiking, rafting and mountain biking for those who want a more active engagement with the natural surroundings.
