Keene and Kingston

Keene is ranked as one of the prettiest towns in Canada, with its mix of boutiques, craft studios, gardens and indigenous historic sites, Keene is in an area known as the Kawarthas, some 90 mins north east of Toronto. With the Trent Severn waterway running through its heart and its lakes, the region is an attractive blend of land and water.

Kingston is dubbed the ‘Limestone City’ due to the distinct buildings built of the local rock. Kingston is located on the south end of the Rideau Canal, with Lake Ontario providing a scenic backdrop for the city. The city is easily reached from Toronto (three hours, Hwy 401 eastbound) and Ottawa (two hours, Hwy 401 westbound). Set on a ridge overlooking the city is Fort Henry, an interactive museum of Canadian and British military history.
