Our Frozen Planet

on Monday, 19 December 2011. Posted in Canada, Worldwide

If you, like us, watched the recent Frozen Planet series in amazement and now want to see it for yourself, may we suggest you take a look at our new Canadian Arctic programme.

Journey to the very edge of the Arctic ice floe, where wildlife congregates in abundance. It’s home to pods of exotic narwhal, their misty breath sparkling in the 24 hour sun, polar bears, seals, walrus as big as cars, an incredible variety of sea birds (including thick billed Murre, Kittiwake, Guillemot and Ivory Gull )and the rare Bowhead and Beluga whales. In early summer, with the sun shining throughout the day and most of the night (constantly in May and June), the temperatures are warmer than you might expect (averaging from -5°C to +10°C).

Bridge and Wickers Top 5 - Train Journeys

on Monday, 03 October 2011. Posted in Canada, Worldwide, Australia, New Zealand, Africa, Asia

When heading to far flung destinations it is tempting to try and make the most of the trip by cramming in as much as possible. With larger countries this normally involves numerous domestic flights and the associated stresses and discomfort only spending a lot of time in airports can give. Less can certainly be more though in this instance and it is possible to make the journey the adventure rather than an irritant to be endured between holiday highlights. Enter the world of train travel.

Have you seen Toronto’s new EdgeWalk at the CN Tower?

on Friday, 26 August 2011. Posted in Canada, Worldwide

Opened on the 1st August the EdgeWalk is the first of its kind in North America and Toronto’s most extreme attraction.
It is the world’s highest full circle hands-free walk on a 5 ft (1.5 m) wide ledge encircling the top of the CN Tower’s main pod – 116 storeys above the ground!  Visitors walk in groups of six, while attached to an overhead safety rail via a trolley and harness system. Trained EdgeWalk guides encourage participants to push their personal limits, allowing them to lean back over Toronto with nothing but air and breathtaking views of Lake Ontario beneath them.

None of us here have the nerve but if you do we can arrange it for you!!!!!
