The Hunter Valley is two hours’ drive from Sydney and is famous for its award-winning wines and historic towns. With more than 120 wineries, the Hunter Valley produces some terrific wines, including crisp semillon and full bodied shiraz. Visit the cellar doors of some of the wine "bluebloods", such as McGuigan, Tyrrell, Tulloch and Drayton, whose families have been making wine for generations.
Explore the galleries, antiques and specialty stores in Morpeth, a National Trust-classified town. Other options include indulging in some serious pampering at a day spa or teeing off from one of the region’s three championship golf courses.
