Itinerary Information

Kuala LumpurDay 1 – Kuala Lumpur

On arrival you will be met and transferred to the Ritz Carlton hotel where you’ll stay for the next 2 nights. (B)

 

 

 

Melaka (Malacca)Day 2 – Melaka (Malacca)

Breakfast at the hotel, followed by Historical Malacca Tour.  A relaxing, scenic 2-hour drive south of Kuala Lumpur takes you to Malacca, the oldest trading port in Malaysia which has undergone Portuguese, Dutch and English rule. Visit Stadhuys – the Dutch Square and from there take a walk up St. Paul's Hill for a panoramic view of the Malacca Straits and the old town of Bandar Hilir. At the top are the famous Portuguese Fort de Santiago and the ruins of St. Paul's Church, lined by 17th Century Dutch tombstones. Stop for a typical 'Nonya' lunch before taking a stroll through the Antiques Row at Jonker Street. The visit to Malacca is completed with a stop at Cheng Hoon Teng, the oldest Chinese Temple in Malaysia. (B)

 

Cameron HighlandsDay 3 – Cameron Highlands

Depart Kuala Lumpur in the morning and travel north for 3 hours to the hill resort of Cameron Highlands. Stands at 1,820 metres above sea level, it is synonymous with fresh fruits and vegetables, horticultural and tea plantation nourished by fertile and rich terrain. Enroute, you will have the opportunity to visit the Orang Asli (Malaysia aboriginals) settlements and witness their hunting skill using blowpipes. After lunch at hotel (own expenses), visit vegetables and fruit farms, not to be missed also is the visit to the apiary where bees are kept and pure honey sold. The evening is free at leisure. You’ll spend the next 2 nights at the Cameron Highlands Resort (B)

 

Day 4 – Cameron HighlandsCameron Highlands

Morning visit to the fruit and vegetable farms, flower garden, tea plantation and an agricultural station. The rest of the day is free, to explore this resort area or simply be rejuvenated by the fresh cool air. A light sweater is recommended for evenings.(B)

 

 

Penang SunsetDay 5 – Penang

After breakfast, descend from Cameron Highlands for Penang (5 hours) enroute visit Sam Poh Tong Cave Temple an impressive work of art and faith, with various statues of Buddha among natural stalactites and stalagmites. Continue journey to Kuala Kangsar, the royal town of Perak. View the majestic Ubudiah Mosque, which was built in 1917 and remains the most beautiful mosque in the country. Admire the old and new Royal Palace before journey to Penang via the Penang Bridge, the longest in Asia. The evening is free at leisure. Stay at the Eastern & Oriental Hotel Penang for the next 2 nights. (B)

 

Day 6 – PenangMonkey in the Botanical Gardens

Breakfast at the hotel, followed by Georgetown & Heritage tour. (3 hours) Explore the streets of Georgetown and its rich heritage. Admire the intricate carvings, woodwork and porcelain décor of Khoo Kongsi and the adjacent Yap Kongsi. After that take a leisurely trishaw ride through Chinatown to visit Peranakan Museum which houses some priceless antique collections of the Straits Settlement era. Last stop is Wat Chayamakaralam which houses one of the world’s largest reclining buddhas, and the colourful Burmese Temple next door. (B)

 

Datai BayDay 7 – Langkawi

After breakfast in your hotel you’ll be transfer to the airport for your flight to Langawi. On arrival transfer to The Datai where you’ll stay for the next 4 nights.(B)

 

 

 

Day 8 – Exploring LangkawiEagle

Breakfast at hotel, followed by Mangrove Forest & Eagle Watching tour. (6 hours) Experience the wonders of nature at Langkawi’s coastal mangrove forest. Starting from a fishing village, the boat journey will take you through the thick mangrove forest fringed by limestone caves and hidden canyon, where you can spot monkeys, kingfishers, monitor lizards and mud crabs. Visit a fish farm before the highlight of watching at least 3 different species of eagles being fed, a scene not to be missed! Set lunch at BarnThai restaurant located in the mangrove forest is included. (B)

 

Children with DragonDay 9 Exploring Langkawi

Breakfast at the hotel, followed by Langkawi Island Tour. (3 hours) A discovery tour of the urban and rural areas of Legendary Langkawi. The journey begins with a visit to Makam Mahsuri, where the legendary island beauty who cursed Langkawi for 7 generations before her death, was laid to rest. Take a leisurely drive through quaint Malay Villagers, paddy fields with muddy water buffaloes and rubber plantation. Visit the exclusive Atma Alam Art Village to witness the printing of latest collection of Batik designs. Also included in the tour is a visit to the CHOGM Garden and Eagle Square in Kuah Town, symbolised by a 12-metre high brown eagle statue. Option for quick duty free shopping in Kuah before returning to hotel.(B)

 

The DataiDays 10 – 12 – Langkawi

Relax and enjoy the resort facilities of the Datai (B)

Day 13 Home

After breakfast you will be met and transferred to the airport for your onward flight to Kuala Lumpur and home. (B)
