Malaysia offers an oriental blend of sights and scenery, beaches and bargains. Bridge & Wickers can arrange holidays to Malaysia that combine the coast with the interior highlands, and visits to Sabah, Malaysia’s corner of Borneo, for wildlife encounters and soft adventures in the jungle.

  • Its capital city Kuala Lumpur, affectionately known as KL, is an amazing cultural melting pot. Here, you will wander through communities of Chinese, Malays, South Indians, East Malaysian ethnic groups, Thais, Indonesians, Sikhs and a huge community of expats. Each community offering its own festivals, food, music, art and fashion while influencing each other's cultures.
  • Langkawi is an island of rainforests, mountain, white sand beaches and some outstanding hotels. Enjoy an island tour, a sunset cruise, a trip to the mangrove forest or the Pulau Payar marine park.
  • Among the highlights on the island of Penang is the world’s largest reclining Buddha, the priceless antiques housed in the Peranakan museum in Chinatown and the wood carvings and porcelain décor of the Khoo Kongsi temple.
  • The Cameron Highlands were a popular bolthole for old British colonials keep to escape the summer heat and humidity of Kuala Lumpur. The area, with its pretty flowers, cool temperatures, fresh fruits and vegetables feels almost home counties – but for the tea plantations.
  • Malaysia’s East Coast is the sleepier, more traditional side of the peninsula with traditional fishermen’s kampungs, deserted beaches backed by jungle and both coconut and rubber plantations. Unlike many parts of Asia, the weather is best between Easter and October.
  • Sabah, Malaysia’s corner of the massive island of Borneo, has some remarkable wildlife. Orang utans, the largest ape living outside Africa, are best seen at Sepilok, while other animal sightings include the unique Probiscus monkeys and turtles. Experiences in Sabah also include visiting coastal kampongs, tribal villages built on stilts each with their own customs, ceremonies, dances, festivals and languages, and Mount Kinabalu, a national park rich in exotic plants, birds, hot springs and south east Asia’s highest peak (13,436 feet).
