Day 1 - Sandakan - Turtle Island

An early morning transfer for flight to Sandakan. You will be met on arrival and transferred to the jetty for the trip by speedboat to Turtle Island (Selingan Island). Take time to relax in the sun, sea and sand after lunch. After dinner watch the wonders of green turtle by way of their egg laying and release of hatchlings into the ocean.

Spend the night at Turtle Island Chalet (please be aware – accommodation is very basic)

Day 2 - Turtle Island - Sepilok Orang Utan - Sukau

Return by speedboat to the mainland before proceeding by road to world-famous Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. Here you will learn how the orphaned Orang Utans are rehabilitated and take a guided walk into the jungle to hopefully see these amazing animals close-up at their feeding station. After lunch at Sandakan, commence your journey of discovery by boat up the Lower Kinabatangan River cruising on up river towards sukau in search of the endemic Proboscis Monkeys and other fascinating wildlife. Stopover at Abai for Tea. On arrival at Sukau, enjoy a short rest before taking a leisure late afternoon river cruise in search of the local wildlife - an amazing variety of birdlife including the hornbills, eagles and kingfishers; monitor lizards and other reptiles plus the macaque and long-nosed proboscis monkeys. Overnight stay at Bukit Malapi Lodge.

Day 3 - Sukau – Kota Kinabalu

After breakfast, another chance to spot the local wildlife as you commence the return 2 ½ journey downriver by boat to Sandakan. On arrival, enjoy a local lunch followed by a short city tour of Sandakan before flying back to Kota Kinabalu.
