All Bridge & Wickers holidays are tailor-made and no two are the same. We have made some accommodation suggestions, however we will tailor your quote to your preferred standard and style of accommodation.
Rivers are the lifeblood of Africa and this combination offers unforgettable scenery and fabulous game viewing opportunities, along with the chance to visit the mighty Victoria Falls.
The itinerary can easily be extended to include extra nights in each of the three locations, or to include other regions in Zambia or Botswana.
Days 1-2: Luangwa River, South Luangwa - Zambia
Check in at Lusaka Airport for your scheduled light aircraft flight to Mfuwe Airport. From Mfuwe, it is a very scenic hour and a half transfer by road to Sanctuary Puku Ridge Camp in a remote, wildlife rich area of the South Luangwa National Park. This small and intimate bush camp is built on a hillside, combining an authentic safari experience under canvas with 5-star facilities.
A full range of day and night game drives are offered by the camp. The emphasis in this area is on the wonderful opportunities of walking safaris with a professional guide and an armed national parks scout. Walking safaris offer a different perspective on the bush and its plentiful inhabitants, experiencing the “little five” and the thrill of coming across larger game too.
Days 3-4: Zambezi River, Victoria Falls - Zambia
Transfer back to Mfuwe International airport for your onward scheduled flights to Livingstone.
The next few days are yours to do as much or as little as you please. Relax in your tree house at Sanctuary Sussi & Chuma overlooking the mighty Zambezi River; indulge in a spa treatment or two; or take full advantage of the many activities on offer at the lodge. Activities are varied and include game drives in Mosi-oa-Tunya (offering a rare chance in Zambia/Botswana to spot white rhino), guided tours of Victoria Falls and rainforest on the Zambian Side, a cultural tour of Livingstone, a shopping visit of Livingstone Town, early morning or sunset cruises or fishing on the Zambezi River.
There are also a number of other activities (at extra cost) offered nearby – bungee jumping, helicopter flights over the Falls and elephant back safaris to name but a few.
Days 5-6: Chobe River, Chobe National Park - Botswana
After breakfast, you will be transferred by road and via a ferry crossing to Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero, Botswana. Chobe National Park is probably best known for having Africa's largest concentration of elephants, as well as hippos, buffalos, antelope, lions and other prolific wildlife that gathers on the banks of the Chobe River.
Enjoy thrilling guided game drives in open-sided 4WD vehicles or join a professional guide on a water safari in a specially adapted motorboat.
Chobe Chilwero is also the perfect spot to relax while enjoying the gourmet food that the lodge has become known for, lounging in the split-level swimming pool or unwinding with a pampering session in the only full service spa on the Botswana safari circuit.
Day 7: Kasane
Time allowing, enjoy a morning game viewing activity before your short road transfer to Kasane Airport for your onward flight.
2 nights at Sanctuary Puku Ridge in the South Luangwa, including all meals, selected drinks, game viewing activities, laundry and park fees.
2 nights at Sanctuary Sussi & Chuma at Victoria Falls, including all meals, selected drinks, twice daily selected activities, laundry and park fees.
2 nights at Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero Camp in Chobe, including all meals, selected drinks, game viewing activities, laundry and park fees.
