Day 1
Arrive Cape Town. You will be met on arrival and assisted with collecting your Group C hire car (VW Polo or similar). If you prefer, we can arrange a transfer for you and for the car to be delivered. It’s a scenic drive through mountain passes to Oudtshoorn, the ostrich capital of the world since 1863. Overnight in a luxury room at De Zeekoe Guest Farm, breakfast included.
Day 7
We would recommend you start your day with a visit to the meerkat colony. After breakfast, you can stop at an ostrich farm to see how the birds are farmed, and visit the museums and national monuments reflecting Oudtshoorn’s history and the “ostrich feather boom” of the early 1900’s. Drive through the dramatic mountains to the coast to stay 3 nights in a suite at Hog Hollow Country Lodge.
Days 8 & 9
Spend two days enjoying the beautiful beaches of Plettenberg Bay, the dramatic rocky Robberg Peninsula, lagoons and estuaries, indigenous forests and crystal-clear rivers; activities from the forest canopy walk and mountain bike trails to boat trips in Knysna Lagoon or seasonal whale-watching, bird-watching and sea-kayaking tours; exploring nature reserves and spectacular scenery, visiting a rural township or pottering among the shops of Knysna’s historic centre and quays. . .
Day 10
Drive to
Stay 3 nights in a suite at Djuma Vuyatela Lodge, all meals, local drinks, two game drives and one guided walking trail per day included.
