Regions

Etosha National Park

Etosha National Park

Etosha National Park is a vast game reserve in Northern Namibia and is considered to be one of Africa’s finest. It is where you’ll find the largest concentration of game in Namibia and despite its arid appearance; the park is bursting with life. In the dry season, thousands upon thousands of animals gather at waterholes to slake their thirst. A visit to Etosha is definitely a highlight of visiting Namibia.
Sossusvlei

Sossusvlei

Imagine towering ochre dunes rising majestically over 300m above the surrounding desert. Sossusvlei in the Namib Desert is said to be home to the highest dunes in the world. The changing hues at sunrise and sunset make this ancient desert a favourite destination for photographers and romantics alike. Scale ‘Big Daddy’, explore Dead Vlei and Sesriem Canyon and in the evenings, marvel at the clear, jewel-studded skies.
Windhoek

Windhoek

Windhoek is the capital city of Namibia and the picturesque gateway to this magnificent country. You’ll find an eclectic mix of German and local architecture, pavement bistros, shops selling fabulous Namibian jewellery, leather and gems, as well as street vendors plying their trade. It’s a bustling, but relaxed and clean city, a good place to start or end your Namibia safari.
Central Namibia

Central Namibia

The region between Windhoek and Etosha has much of interest to offer the visitor to Namibia. Okonjima Guest Farm, home of the Africat Foundation, is a major draw for visitors and is dedicated to the conservation of big cats in Namibia. On the eastern side of this area, the Waterberg Plateau is stunning, though more for its hiking trails, dramatic scenery and feeling of wilderness, than for its game viewing.
Damaraland

Damaraland

Damaraland holds a special attraction for lovers of remote and wild places; it has a dramatic, harsh beauty. The rocky desert harbours intriguing geological features such as the volcanic Brandberg (Burnt Mountain), basalt Organ Pipes and the Petrified Forest, as well as significant San rock engravings and paintings dating back thousands of years. However, for many, the highlight is seeking out the country’s famous free-roaming desert-adapted elephants that make this region their home.
Skeleton Coast & Kaokoland

Skeleton Coast & Kaokoland

The vast, coastal wilderness of the Skeleton Coast and the rugged mountains of Kaokoland at the northern tip are Namibia’s most remote regions. Spend a few days in either of these areas and you will feel like you have truly reached the edge of the earth! Experience the desolate, stark beauty of the Skeleton Coast and explore the soaring plains, mountains and culture of the Himba people in the northern reaches of Kaokoland.
Swakopmund

Swakopmund

Swakopmund is Namibia’s largest coastal town and is probably best known by many as the adventure capital of Namibia with activities such as sand boarding, horse riding and even sea kayaking on offer. However, Swakopmund also makes a perfect base to explore the coast, including the southern reaches of the Skeleton Coast, Cape Cross and Walvis Bay, as well as an opportunity to relax and gain respite from the heat of the interior.
