Madagascar is one of the world’s truly unique destinations. Separated from mainland Africa around 160 million years ago, this island continent has forged its own evolutionary path. As a result, 80% of the flora and fauna in Madagascar is found nowhere else on earth. White-sand beaches, coral reefs and dreamy archipelagos await those who can drag themselves away from the national parks.

Our Madagascar holidays include an English-speaking guide and high quality vehicles to make sure you get the most out of your time. Whether you want to spend a month visiting all the key national parks or arrange a week-long trip to the beach, we would be pleased to discuss your personal requirements and interests.

Andasibe-Mantadia & Pangalanes Canal

Andasibe-Mantadia & Pangalanes Canal

Less than four hours from Antananarivo, Andasibe-Mantadia is Madagascar’s most popular park and the best place to see the Indri, the largest of the lemurs and a number of other key bird, lemur and reptile species. Continue east to the Pangalanes and drift along by boat watching local life along the banks of the canal.
Beaches and Islands

Beaches and Islands

Madagascar is fringed with a number of white-sand beaches and delightful islands. Choose from the castaway experience and exceptional diving or an island where comfortable hotels mingle with local fishing villages and farmers growing vanilla and coffee. Alternatively stay at Anjajavy with the warm Indian Ocean on one side and a dry deciduous forest reserve, packed with lemurs and birdlife on the other, literally the best of both worlds.
The RN7 overland route

The RN7 overland route

The RN7 is the classic Madagascar tour. Best done over at least six nights, the route includes two of Madagascar’s top national parks: Ranomafana and Isalo. Travelling overland gives a sense of both the scale of the country and the dramatic variety of landscapes, wildlife, and cultures. Book early as good accommodation is in short supply and fills up quickly, especially in July – November.
The spiny forest

The spiny forest

The spiny forest is Madagascar’s most distinctive habitat. Add a night or two at Ifaty at the end of an RN7 tour to seek rare endemic birds amongst the ancient baobab trees or fly to Fort Dauphin and visit the famous Berenty Reserve. Alternatively stay at Madagascar Classic Camping, the first luxury camping in Madagascar offering a mix of wildlife and cultural experiences.
Montagne d'Ambre & Ankarana

Montagne d'Ambre & Ankarana

Madagascar’s far north is a fantastic circuit of two contrasting parks linked by a good road. Start with Montagne d’Ambre, a lush rainforest reserve abounding in wildlife, then move on to the dry deciduous forest reserve of Ankarana National Park to gaze at the remarkable tsingy rock formations.
