Namibia Fly-in Safari

Itinerary Information

All Bridge & Wickers holidays are tailor-made and no two are the same. We have made some accommodation suggestions, however we will tailor your quote to your preferred standard and style of accommodation.

This fly-in safari is a classic! Flying reduces the amount of time you spend travelling between the destinations on your holiday and provides a wonderful aerial perspective of this magnificent country. This itinerary is really ideal if you have only a short time to visit and want to see as many of the main highlights as possible.

Days 1-2: Sossusvlei, Namib Desert
Arrive into Windhoek and transfer by shared light aircraft to Sossusvlei, for your first glimpse of Namibia’s ancient and breathtaking Namib Desert. Stay at the Kulala Desert Lodge and explore the area on guided visits to the towering dunes of Sossusvlei and on guided nature drives to take in the desert scenery and the area’s unique flora and fauna.

Days 3-4: Damaraland
Leaving the Sossusvlei area, you fly over the Namib's most spectacular dunes, along the coast to Swakopmund. Stretch your legs and continue your flight over the Skeleton Coast and inland to Damaraland.  Doro !Nawas Camp offers a wonderful location to experience many of the highlights of this region and your time here will include activities such as nature drives in open 4WD vehicles with specialist guides in search of resident game and the desert adapted elephants, as well as fabulous mountain walks and visits to the nearby rock engravings at Twyfelfontein.

Days 5-6: Ongava Private Game Reserve, Etosha
Your next stop on your fly-in safari is the Ongava Private Game Reserve, which shares a border with Etosha National Park. At Ongava Lodge, spend your next few days on guided game drives in open 4WD vehicles both on the Ongava Reserve and in Etosha. It is also an ideal opportunity to track white rhino on foot in the private reserve, a rare privilege and something quite special.

Day 7: Fly back to Windhoek
Fly by light aircraft south to Windhoek Airport, to connect with your onward flight.
