Suggestions for a short break in South Africa

Suggestions for a short break in South Africa

Itinerary Information

Home of the famous Table Mountain, Cape Town has so much to offer, much of it easy to enjoy in just a few days. With flights departing every evening from London and arriving early the following morning, you can fly out on a Thursday evening for a three night stay and arrive back to the UK on Tuesday morning, all ready for a full days’ work!

Table Mountain is the iconic image which springs to mind when thinking of Cape Town. Take the cable car to the top and enjoy spectacular views over the city and ocean beyond. Cape Town’s history should also be an essential ingredient on your agenda; take a ferry ride to Robben Island, Nelson Mandela’s “home” for 22 years is a must (prebooking is highly recommended). You should also consider a a half or full day tour to meet Cape Town’s colony of African penguins on Boulders Beach, and see the Cape Fur seals. A visit to the Cape of Good Hope and Simonstown, headquarters of the South African navy, will also tempt you, as well those fabulous doorstep beaches and the famous Cape vineyards.

Further afield, you might want to spend time at the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, or even spend your three nights in the heart of the wineland, choosing from spend all three nights in the Winelands, either in Stellenbosch, Franschoek or Paarl where you can really indulge yourself in a world of wonderful food and wine.

If more than a few nights to spare, why not consider combining, Cape Town, the Winelands, the Garden Route and ending your holiday with a fantastic safari in either the Eastern Cape or the famous Kruger National Park
